The Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) is a statutory body established under the Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution Act, of 1976. The Employees Old Age Benefit Institute Works under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistan/Human Resource Department Government of Pakistan. 


 

The objective of EOBI is to provide social security to the working class in Pakistan by ensuring old-age benefits, invalidity pensions, survivor's pensions, and old-age grants.


 

Why Government of Pakistan Established EOBI?

The main reason behind the establishment of EOBI was to provide financial assistance in the shape of pensions to the middle working class in Pakistan after they retire or become disabled. 


 

The government of Pakistan felt that it was important to provide this assistance to the working class in order to ensure their social security and to help them maintain a decent standard of living after they retire or become disabled.


 

EOBI has been providing social security to the working class in Pakistan for over 40 years. It has helped millions of people to secure their financial future after retirement or disability. EOBI has played a vital role in improving the lives of the working class in Pakistan and has helped to make Pakistan a more just and equitable society.

1.  Old-age pension: This is a monthly pension that is paid to people who have retired and have contributed to EOBI for a minimum of 10 years.

2.  Invalidity pension: This is a monthly pension that is paid to people who have become disabled and have contributed to EOBI for a minimum of 10 years.

3.   Survivor's pension: This is a monthly pension that is paid to the dependents of people who have died and have contributed to EOBI for a minimum of 10 years.

4.  Old-age grant: This is a one-time grant that is paid to people who have retired and have contributed to EOBI for a minimum of 10 years.

Who is Eligible For EOBI Benefits?

Only Pakistani Citizens

Regular Employment With Private Sector

Have contributed to EOBI for a minimum of 10 years contributions

Employers are required to contribute 5% of the basic wages of their employees to EOBI. Employees are required to contribute 1% of their basic wages to EOBI.

 

How to Apply?

To apply for EOBI benefits, you can visit the nearest EOBI office or apply online. You will need to submit the following documents:
